Through its Engineered Materials division, Celanese offers a broad portfolio of polymers for use in both meltblown and spunbond nonwovens processing and applications.  These materials include polyesters (Crastin® PBT), elastomers (Hytrel® TPC, Santoprene® TPV), polyamide (Zytel® PA, Celanyl® PA 66, Ecomid® PA 66), cellulose acetate nonwoven, Dur-O-Set® emulsions, and Vinamul® emulsions. Sustainable grades, which include recycled content or offer a low carbon footprint, are also available. These materials are well-suited for markets including: consumer products, medical, food and beverage, personal care, industrial, automotive, and agricultural.

Crastin® PBT polyester, including highly tailored viscosity grades, has been widely used in filtration applications including oil and fuel, water, waste, and beverages. Hytrel® TPC has been used in a variety of applications including apparel and sporting goods where stretch and recovery, along with outstanding aesthetic feel, are needed.  Over the years, these materials have been successfully processed on NWI’s laboratory and pilot-scale equipment, developing know-how in the NWI team for meeting customer needs. Samples of polymers and nonwoven fabrics can be made available.
