Marketing Director:

 

The Marketing Director is the primary communication and engagement officer for The Nonwovens Institute (NWI) within the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI), at NC State University.

The Director of Marketing coordinates with NWI’s Deputy Director, Executive Director, Staff, and Members to implement NWI’s strategic communications and marketing plan. The Director will lead the effort to increase the visibility of NWI’s “education, research, and service to the Nonwovens Industry”. This will be accomplished through a broad range of communications that showcase NWI’s educational authority, research strengths, and capability to serve the industry, as well as the strength and successes of the NWI community including graduate students and faculty, industry members, and staff.

Research Specialist – Process Operations and Development:

 

This position is for an individual to collaborate and conduct research, and/or to support quality production of developmental materials and commercial/semi-commercial product on behalf of our innovation incubator; LINC.  The position will be a member of a team involved primarily in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of NWI Pilot Nonwoven Labs and the equipment that is used for running experimental test runs for industry and university researchers.   Examples of Labs where potential positions will be assigned include Fiber Science Lab, Spunbond Nonwovens, Meltblown Nonwovens, Filament Spinning, Staple (Carding), and Wetlaid. A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.  A Graduate degree or equivalent and/or prior relevant experience in continuous-production operations, most ideally in the nonwovens field, is preferred.

Research Specialist – Analytical Testing and Product Development:

 

This position assists in the analytical testing of materials, maintenance of laboratory standards for GMP, ISO 9001+, and ISO 17025, and the development of new products as a member of the analytical testing and new product development team of the Nonwovens Institute.  In collaboration with the Product Development team, this person will contribute to projects by performing complex experiments according to outlined procedures and techniques in a research laboratory.  A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.  A Master’s degree or equivalent and/or prior relevant experience in a testing laboratory, most ideally in the nonwovens field, is preferred.

Electronics Specialist:

 

This position performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting/repair of nonwovens lab, production and testing equipment for The Nonwovens Institute.   An Associate’s Degree in Electronics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.  Prior relevant experience in a pilot-scale or commercial manufacturing operation is preferred.
